Ghanaian-British artist, Christian Hiadzi, paints stories about humans. His portraits are created with oil on canvas, inviting us to speak the stories of each character into existence. Many of his works in his long-running Human Stories feature people adorned in regal, bold finery.

Christian’s dark-skinned subjects remain colourful - bursting out of the dark backgrounds, demanding to be seen. Some of them have swirls of colours masking their faces, forcing us to acknowledge the depth that each person carries.
