Life and Community with Urechi Oguguo

Nigerian-born American artist, Uréchi Oguguo, uses her digital art to share her thoughts and feelings about life. Ure is also known for her colorful murals which translate the digital illustrations she was well know for into the real world, but more importantly, into the heart of communities.

Her Abuelita Masala mural is a testament to this. A sense of celebration and joy radiates through the colorful primary colors she uses indiscriminately. Each panel shows joy in action - from a distinguished gentleman cooking with quiet pleasure, to loud trumpets in play and dancers in dance. We love that this mural stands as a symbol of joy for all in the neighborhood to enjoy.
