Feel At Home with Peter Uka
Nigerian artist, Peter Uka, paints scenes of his memories from growing up in 1970s Nigeria. Each scene paints a snapshot of a moment in time, in everyday life.
At home, a woman fiddles with the TV set to get a channel working. In another, a vibrantly cool man lounges at home with his books and his groovy music. That ‘70s feel characterized by huge afros, bootleg jeans and just general dapperness is ripe throughout his creations.
Peter’s works ultimately remind us to remember and cherish the times and memories we grew up in, cause these are the memories that can sustain us as we grow older.
