Deep Space Traveller by Santos Shelton

American artist, Santos Shelton, blends elements of pop art, surrealism, abstraction, and fantasy to describe the growth we get from hardship, trauma and pain. Inspired by science fiction, his paintings follow a central character, the Deep Space Traveller, who ports across fantastical worlds that depict pain brought to life. They persevere against lavas, emotive mountains and all sorts of negative emotions brought on by trauma, but despite the red bloody tears that drop from their eyes as they travel, persevere they do.

Santos works mostly with acrylic on wood panels, drenching his canvas in bold colours that speak as much to these fantastical worlds as to the emotional rollercoaster the Deep Space Traveller is on. We love it.
