Womanhood with Uréchi Oguguo

Imagine being able to illustrate what you’re feeling today - to bring your thoughts to life too; to show people when you’re proud of yourself and confident, but also when you don’t really want to do anything all weekend. That’s what Uréchi's work feels like.

Lagos-born illustrator, Uréchi Oguguo, exudes all these in her beautiful, colorful illustrations. Through her creations, she speaks clearly about womanhood, the joys and pains that women experience, the need to feel good and know you're beautiful no matter how you look, and many more.

In her portfolio, you'll find a range of these fitting issues - from a relatable illustration of a woman who's period has stained her bed, to a woman giving off strong career woman vibes but also surrounded by flowers to show her duality. How about the woman taking some time off for 'me time', relaxing in a bath. As women, we've all felt like any of these at some point. Uré's works are that more special because of how relatable and encouraging they are. You are not alone.
