Rerouted by Justin Dingwall
In this ‘Rerouted’ photography series, South African photographer, Justin Dingwall, and visual artist, Roman Handt, explore themes of travel and express just how much this complicated act of voyaging affects us as individuals and as society.
Growth and discovery come from travel, and building community that edifies the soul similarly comes from movement and visitations, no matter how short. The South African artists celebrate this by incorporating miniature sculptures of modes of travel - bicycles and airplanes - as headdresses and eye wear. Their model is also adorned in a makeshift dress made from local travel sacks.
