Dark and Color by Suleiman Gwadah

Nigerian digital artist and illustrator, Suleiman Gwadah, a.k.a. Pacmartian, is full of imagination. His digital illustrations are an explosion of color which tells stories that are full of a million possibilities in just one fascinating portrait.

The African illustrator mixes tales of aliens, demons, the supernatural and the folklore in a compelling manner that has a hint of darkness, but also a burst of hopefulness, courage, power - perhaps because of the multitude of colors in his works. His take on Afrofuturism is fresh because of this.

I’m inspired by the challenge of fusing African art, pop culture and folklore with elements of the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres. To achieve that goal, I find myself looking through various visual blogs and social media like Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration. ~ Suleiman Gwadah in Spark Magazine
