Back to Life with James Charles Morris

American artist, James Charles Morris, builds beautiful portraits about both imaginary and real people who influence Black culture. He shapes them back to life using fragments—photographs, textures, memories—layered into striking digital collages that are truly one of a kind. His collages are visual symphonies usually constructed from hundreds of his own photographs, and together with his painting, culminating in lush, layered backgrounds. It ultimately all comes together to honour the subject’s legacy.
