Chaos and Satire with Steve Bandoma

Congolese artist, Steve Bandoma, creates art that feels wild and full of meaning. He often mixes drawing, paint, collage, magazine images, body parts, faces, limbs, and strange figures into scenes that look totally chaotic but are actually intentional.

Much of Steve’s work plays with politics, culture, identity, and the tension between tradition and modern life. His images feel messy, absurd and sometimes, downright weird. But this invites you to look deeper into what he’s actually depicting - satire that describes power, religion, colonial history and everyday life in Kinshasa.
